How to compare HR software fairly
Comparing HR products from pricing pages and demos alone is how teams end up with the wrong tool. Every vendor demo looks good. What matters is how the product handles your messy, real situations. Use the same scenarios, the same scorecard, and the same questions for every vendor.
- Write three to five real scenarios. For example, a remote hire in a new state, a mid-year raise, and an employee going on intermittent leave.
- Ask every vendor to demo those scenarios, not their standard script.
- Score on the same scale. Our free demo scorecard gives you one.
- Talk to two customers your size, one happy and one who almost left.
- Compare the total cost over three years, including implementation, add-ons, and renewal increases.
