Healthcare job descriptions
Clinical support, nursing, dental, pharmacy, and home care roles. 6 free, ready-to-post templates with May 2025 BLS pay data, exempt status guidance, legal notes, interview questions, and a PDF.
Healthcare hiring has two problems most industries don't. The first is scope of practice: what a medical assistant, a CNA, or a pharmacy technician may legally do depends on the state, so a job description copied from another state can promise duties your new hire isn't allowed to perform. The second is credential tracking. Licenses, certifications, and CPR cards expire, and an expired credential can mean a survey finding or a billing problem.
The descriptions below are written for clinics, hospitals, dental offices, pharmacies, and home care agencies. Each one separates clinical duties from administrative ones, names the credentials a hiring manager should verify, and flags the federal rules that commonly apply, such as OSHA bloodborne pathogens training, HIPAA, and the companionship exemption for home care.
